A striking antique mirror with softly rounded corners, framed in layered molding with contrasting black trim. The painted finish has aged beautifully, with subtle cracking, wear, and tonal variation that give it depth and a quiet sense of history.  The original glass shows light foxing and spotting, adding character and a softly mottled reflection that feels both romantic and timeworn.

Crafted in France during the Louis Philippe period (1830–1848), these mirrors are known for their softly rounded corners, refined simplicity, and luminous gilt or silver leaf finishes that have become icons of French decorative arts.
